Remember the City of Heroes Homecoming update we've been waiting for all year? You know, the one that was supposed to drop in spring but kept slipping? Well, it's finally here. The team has started testing i28p4 and it brings some shiny new toys for your heroes.
If you've been following along, you'll know that back in June we were all nervously tapping our superhero boots. The roadmap had i28p4 slated for a spring release, and i28p5 for this fall. But as we all know, game development waits for no one, and the whole patch cycle has fallen behind. Still, better late than never, right?
So what's in this eagerly awaited update? Two new power sets: Light Affinity and Sonic Aura. That's right. You can now harness the power of light to buff your allies or wrap yourself in sonic vibrations for serious defense. Whether you're a support player or a tank type, these sets are going to shake up your build strategies.
Light Affinity seems to be all about buffs and healing, perfect for those who love keeping their team in top shape. Sonic Aura, on the other hand, is geared toward damage mitigation, giving you an extra layer of protection when things get tough. It's a nice combo that should appeal to a variety of playstyles.
Now, before you start theorycrafting, keep in mind that this is just the testing phase. That means there will be bugs, balance tweaks, and other adjustments before the final release. But that's part of the fun. You can be part of the development process and help shape what these power sets become.
If you're a Homecoming player, be sure to hop on the test server and give them a try. If not, this might just be the reason to jump back into Paragon City. With i28p4 finally rolling, it's an exciting time for the community.
So, are you ready to light up the battlefield or rock out with sonic defenses? What do you think of these new power sets? Will you be rolling a new hero to test them out?
