The Duskbloods Network Test Crashes, Future Sessions Uncertain

Have you ever been so excited to jump into a game that all you got was a login screen? That's exactly what happened to players eager to get their first taste of The Duskbloods.

The software's first closed network test for the Switch 2 exclusive was supposed to run from 3 AM to 7 AM PT / 6 AM to 10 AM ET, but widespread login errors forced the studio to pull the plug early.

From Software stated via X, "We regret to inform you that today's session has now ended," adding, "We will continue working to improve the servers, and future schedules will be announced at a later date."

That vague phrasing has everyone speculating. Will the second test session go ahead on Friday? What about the weekend sessions? For now, everything is up in the air.

On the positive side, this is exactly why network tests exist. Catching server issues now lets From Software fix them before the official launch. Of course, it's a shame you can't get your hands on a character like Zork, but a smooth launch matters much more.

When sessions resume, you'll experience the same technical test that GameSpot did in its preview. In that test, they called the game "intriguing" and "a sign of From Software's tendency to subvert expectations and break new ground."

So, are you disappointed by the delay? Will you wait for the next test window? Let us know in the comments!
