Mortal Shell 2 Patch Makes Gold Farming Less Painful.

Cold Symmetry's first patch for Mortal Shell 2 makes things easier with more gold drops, cheaper smelting, and refunded Glimps for the Shell map.

Mortal Shell 2 Patch Makes Gold Farming Way Less Painful

Have you ever spent hours grinding away to afford your next soul-like upgrade? If you've dived into Mortal Shell 2, you know that pain. But just one day after launch, developer Cold Symmetry has rolled out Balance Patch 1, and it's already easing one of the game's biggest problems.

First, the economy gets a major overhaul. Those rare Glimpses, previously required to buy Shell maps, will now instead use Gloom. Here's the key part: if you already spent Glimpses on those maps, you can get a refund for them. Check the Shell Keeper's alcove in Blackmarrow. Gold dropped by enemies has also increased significantly, especially in the second area, Mammon, where enemies now drop double the gold. That means you can upgrade your weapons without getting bogged down in tedious busywork.

But that's not all. The Gloom cost to forge weapons at the Tarforge has now been reduced by 75%, making it easy to swap loadouts without running hours of New Game+. The developers even admitted the previous cost was "insanely high."

Combat gets some love too. The health of many bosses and enemies has been nerfed back to beta health values, easing the early-game burden. The Lost Child and the Monolith both take hits to their damage and health, and some of the Monolith's attacks have been adjusted to be fairer. Enemies like the Cultist (Mace) and Infested Stalker also have significantly less health. If you're struggling in the starting area, this patch will help.

Weapons have been buffed across the board. Great Martyr's Blade deals 20% more damage and Troubadour's Lute hits twice as hard. Caged Hystrix and Triarch Repeater no longer require a minimum resolution to fire, and light attacks for several weapons now track better. Seals Guard can now be used while walking, which is a huge quality-of-life improvement. Tarstone Lich Parasite and Grudge Stone have been buffed, and Bulwark Stone's damage reduction has been significantly increased.

There are also crash fixes, bug fixes, and performance updates to keep things running smoothly. Balance Patch 1 is out now on PC, with the console version coming "soon." So if you're jumping into Mortal Shell 2, this patch is a solid step in the right direction. Planning to dive back in to test the changes? Let us know your thoughts!
