Remember Guardians of the Wild Sky, the co-op sandbox game first spotted back in February? Well, it's made a big leap forward. Paradox Interactive has joined as publisher, and the game is aiming for a Steam Early Access release in 2027.
If you're a fan of games like Ark or Valheim, this one's probably on your radar. The team behind it, Blue Isle Studios, might ring a bell for their work on Citadel: Forged With Fire, but that's pretty much behind them. Now they're taking a fresh spin on the survival crafting genre, and with Paradox's backing, a few features have been added. Serious weight.
So what's the game actually about? From what we know, it's all about exploring a floating world with friends, building bases, and taming creatures to help you survive. The "wild sky" setting sounds like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual forests and deserts. Plus, with co-op mode, you can ride with your friends.
Paradox joining as publisher is a solid sign. They have a knack for supporting games with deep systems and long-term potential, so it could mean Guardians of the Wild Sky gets the polish and post-launch love it needs. The 2027 window might feel far off, but good things come to those who wait, right?
The game is still in development right now, so details are a bit scarce. But with a publisher locked in and a target year set, we can expect more news over the coming years. If you want to plan ahead for a new co-op adventure, it's worth keeping this one on your radar.
What do you think? Are you excited to see Paradox and Blue Isle teaming up, or are you waiting for more gameplay before hopping on the hype train? Let us know in the comments!
