So you might want a fresh start in Where Winds Meet or need to link accounts for crossplay. But there's a problem. You can only have one character per account, and deleting it isn't as simple as pressing a button. Here's what you need to know.
The only way to delete a character is to email [email protected] and ask for help. This email was actually listed for players who want to link their accounts but can't because they've already created characters on both platforms. There's no telling how long it will take or what information they'll ask for, but to speed things up, include your platform (Steam, Epic Games, the official PC launcher, or PS5) and your platform ID (Steam ID, PSN ID, etc.) in your first request.
If you just want to change your appearance, you don't need to delete anything. Open the menu, select Appearance, then find Appearance again at the bottom of the screen. This will take you back to the character creator. The only thing you can't change is your hairstyle. You'll have to buy or unlock hairstyles. Changing makeup is free, but other changes require tickets, and the first ticket is free. You can also use tickets to change gender every 14 days.
It's unknown whether Where Winds Meet will ever let you freely delete and create characters, but the developers say, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes. Currently, each account is limited to one character, and there is no option to delete or create a new character within the same account. To start over, you'll need to register a new account. We appreciate your understanding and support, and we are currently working to improve this issue."
As that quote suggests, you can start over using a different platform or a different platform account. Where Winds Meet is available on Steam, the official PC launcher, Epic Games, and PS5. This may be the fastest way to reset, but remember that you won't get back anything you've purchased.
Did this help? Let us know in the comments if you successfully deleted your character and how the process went!
