The bulk of Where Winds Meet is a solo experience, so choosing the right difficulty is crucial. There are five levels: Story, Recommended, Expert, Legend, and Hardcore. Story, Recommended, and Expert can be switched at any time, but Legend is locked in from the start and cannot be changed later. Hardcore isn't available yet, but when it launches it will bring permanent character death.
If you want the basics of story and combat, Story is the easiest and perfect. It's great for exploring the map with minimal hassle. Recommended offers a balanced mix of story and challenge with tougher bosses, but still encourages exploration. Expert increases enemy difficulty and removes parry and timing cues, making it ideal for combat-focused players who want a test. Legend is for souls-like veterans. Much harder encounters, new boss rewards, and no time-stop or assist options.
Now, about the chapters themselves. Here's a list of all the chapters in the game, along with links to specific walkthroughs (which you can find in the full guide). Each chapter is a step in an epic story, so take your time and enjoy the ride.
