Have you ever set off on a journey to a peaceful home, only for it to turn into a frantic search for a missing aunt? That's exactly what happens in Chapter 1 quest of Where Winds Meet, A Horse Neighs in the Forest. This guide will walk you through every step, from your early journey to the final showdown.
First, you need to return to Heaven's Pier. Talk to Beard Guang to start the quest. If you caught a horse earlier, summon it so you can ride faster. If not, stretch those hooves. Side quests can wait, so focus on the main path.
At Heaven's Pier, Uncle Zhou scolds Ruby and then sends you to Auntie Han at Blissful Retreat. It's a long trip, so a horse comes in handy. If you haven't stolen one yet, steal a horse. When you arrive, Auntie Han is upset but listens to your story. She then asks you to serve wine to Liu Sanye and the other guests. After talking with everyone, head to the private room.Serve the mysterious person. Auntie Han sends you to the porcelain kiln to check on a delayed order.

At the kiln, you'll see broken objects and corpses under attack. Use the 'V' key to examine the highlighted areas. First check the broken jar, then the sword in the dirt. Follow the path to the storage area, where you'll find a survivor named Bony. When you try to help him, a Jianghu wanderer attacks. After a short fight, you show off your skills in a cutscene, and he stops. He demands to be taken to Han, but you pretend to be weak and end up his captive on horseback.
You learn that the infamous bandit Li Hao is hunting Auntie Han. Look for a chance to escape. After dismounting, head north through the thick fog to the Ghost Temple. Hide in the secret passage inside the red building to the right of the entrance. Before descending, strike the large bell in the courtyard for extra proficiency. It's not stealthy, butit's worth it.

Go down through the trap door, turn right to loot the chest, and follow the passage with the ladder. Once you upgrade your gear, you can descend easily and fight the low-level wolves. Grab 2 Blood-Staunching Powder from the central chest. Keep moving through the corridor to prepare for more challenges.
