Master the Gift of Gab in Where Winds Meet: A Witty Combat Guide

Have you ever found yourself in a battle of words where speech is your only weapon? In Where Winds Meet, some enemies prefer a battle of wits over swords. Here's how to gain the upper hand in a mental showdown.

When you encounter an NPC with the [Gift of Gab] option, selecting the NPC begins a battle of wits. The game shows your opponent's style, so you must choose a counter style. It's a rock-paper-scissors system. To gain an advantage, always choose the recommended style. Picking the weak one almost guarantees defeat.

The goal is to reduce your opponent's mental focus to zero before they do the same to you. You'll spend Inspiration to play cards that attack or buff you. The Inspiration pool is in the bottom right and refills over time. Each card's cost is shown in the top left.

When choosing cards, prioritize cards that silence your opponent. Playing them gives you breathing room to recover or prepare an attack. And always make use of every rebuttal opportunity. They can turn the situation in your favor.
