Social Butterfly Event Guide: Where the Wind Meets Rewards

Have you ever wanted to become the talk of the town? In Where Winds Meet, the Social Butterfly event lets you spread juicy rumors in the public newspaper and earn sweet rewards. It's part of the Thaw of Eons New Year celebration, packed with upgrade materials and cosmetics. Let's dive in!

The Social Butterfly event runs for three weeks, from December 11, 2025 to January 3, 2026. It is one of several activities in the Thaw of Eons celebration, alongside the Fortune Beyond Parlor minigame and the fireworks festival. Don't miss out. Once the event ends, everything disappears.

To unlock Wind Whispers and start the event, you need to complete a short side quest in Kaifeng. You can jump straight there via the event page, but you might also stumble upon it while exploring. Look for a quest called "Correspondent: Eastern Herald" in the eastern part of Kaifeng City. Like other quests, it is marked with a green icon. Completing the quest takes you through photographing people near the Eastern Herald, which is essentially a tutorial for the Wind Whispers system.

Once you join, you can complete challenges to earn an event-specific currency called Lucky Money. Use it at the event shop to buy cosmetics, Vibrant Jade, Inner Way Notes, and more. However, a few issues might leave you scratching your head. The trick is understanding how Wind Whispers and the newspaper system work.

The Velvet Shade sect has the authority to endorse or retract submitted articles before they are published in the World's Digest or Floral Annals Untold. The World's Digest has a wider reach, while Floral Annals Untold is a smaller gossip rag. Getting an endorsement increases the chances of your article being published in the World's Digest, while a retraction keeps your article from being published before it goes out.blocks it.

To get an endorsement, find a Velvet Shade member of Rank 2 or higher and ask for an internal recommendation. Alternatively, select your submission from the Wind Whispers menu and choose "Find Internal Recommendation" to see a list of random Velvet Shade members who can help you.

To retract an article, tag someone in the body of the article to defame them before submitting it. They will be notified, and you can find a Velvet Shade disciple to retract it before it gets picked up by the press.
