Where the Wind Meets: Still Shore Hidden Chapter Walkthrough

Have you ever been trapped in a nightmare while fighting a boss who seems to know your every move? That's exactly what happens in the Still Shore Hidden Chapter of Where Winds Meet. This quest is required to get through Chapter 1: The Horse That Howls in the Forest, so you'll have to face your fears. Here's a guide to surviving the dreamscape and defeating Aunt Han.

Once you're below the well, head down the single passage on the left. Use fire arrows to light the braziers on the walls. Watch out for the aggressive Faceless Ones and the trap floor panels that shoot fire arrows. Those trap tiles look like normal tiles, but they sink when you step on them. At the end, they drop you through a hole in the floor.

Follow the passage to the end of the hall, then turn left. Push the door open to reveal a large room with a chest and what looks like the village doctor's storage. The door here is locked from the other side, so cross the room and follow the next corridor to the end. On the left is a small alcove with a broken wall. Move on to the second-floor balcony overlooking the enclosed underground courtyard.

Enter the courtyard and head to the center. Look at the stones on the ground to find a flute and sheet music. When you pick them up, a cutscene plays of your character learning the haunting melody. Now go to the large pressure plate in the center. Stand on it and play the song you just learned. No minigame is required. The Faceless Ones automatically step onto the plate, adding enough weight to open the door. Push it open to enter an ornate treasure room. Activate the boundary stone on the right, then go to the table at the back and read the mysterious book. You're given the chance to practice three martial arts, but your character suddenly falls ill and passes out.

You wake up in the hospital, but everything is wrong. Red light paints the walls and you're completely alone. Head out the main entrance. Instead of the Blissful Retreat, you find a haunting cave filled with ghostly figures. Interact with each ghost to learn more about Aunt Han's fate, then squeeze through the crack in the wall at the end.

Follow the path through the nightmarish open space, jumping across crumbling pieces of the path. When you reach the Hero's Grave, interact with it to heal. A boss fight awaits. Keep searching for the nightmare version of Aunt Han. She'll leap down and attack as if she doesn't even know who you are.

This boss fight is all about dodging. To minimize damage, pay attention to dodge prompts, and use combos and special attacks to deal damage quickly. She has two phases: a physical fight and a "Grief" phase that includes unavoidable magic attacks. When she flies up and fires red energy beams, focus on dodging until she lands. Then land quick hits so she can't use that attack again. Corner her to limit her options.

After you defeat her, you wake up in the treasure room. The Faceless One Cheng Xin follows you and asks for his flute back. Return it, then push open the door behind him and find another passage.
